Christmas Message: President Tinubu Urges Prayers for Leaders and Optimism for Nigeria’s Future

President Bola Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to offer prayers for their leaders, emphasizing that the nation is currently on a path to restoration and progress. In his personal Christmas message, the President encouraged Christians to embrace the spirit of the season, using it as an opportunity to renew their hope and faith in Nigeria’s brighter future.
The President also expressed his condolences to those affected by the recent stampedes in Ibadan, Oyo State; Okija, Anambra State; and Abuja, praying that such tragedies will not be repeated in the future.
In his message, President Tinubu extended warm greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a moment that signifies divine prophecy’s fulfillment. He reminded Nigerians that Christmas is a celebration of peace, love, and unity, offering a reminder that even in the darkest of times, hope and light can prevail. This message of hope, he noted, resonates with people of all faiths, underscoring the belief that “God is with us.”
The President further reflected on the recent tragic incidents, stating, “The painful stampedes have deeply saddened us, and our hearts go out to all those affected. We pray that such heartbreaking events never occur again and that no more innocent lives are lost.”
He also offered his deepest sympathies to those who have endured hardship due to floods, fires, or accidents, saying, “May those in pain find strength and comfort in their faith, in the support of their families, and in the ever-present love of Jesus Christ. Our merciful and compassionate God is close to the brokenhearted and the sick.”
As Nigerians celebrate the season, President Tinubu urged everyone to be mindful of those facing difficulties. He reminded people that acts of kindness—whether small or large—can make a significant difference. “Kindness knows no boundaries,” he said. “Whether in times of wealth or struggle, a smile or a kind word can uplift those around us.” He also honored the nation’s courageous military personnel, who risk their lives daily to protect the country, encouraging continued prayers and support for them.
The President emphasized the importance of collective support for the nation’s leadership. “With your prayers and backing, we can work towards a prosperous future for Nigeria,” he said. “Our country is on a promising path of restoration, and all signs point to a hopeful future.”
In conclusion, President Tinubu wished safe travels to those journeying during the festive season. He assured Nigerians that the government is committed to ensuring safe and convenient travel, highlighting the provision of free train services and subsidized road transport costs on 144 routes across the country.
“May this Christmas season renew our collective hope and belief in the greatness of Nigeria,” the President concluded.
