See How Yahoo Boys Kill EFCC Officer, Injure Another in Onitsha, Anambra

An attack believed to have been carried out by internet fraudsters, commonly known as “Yahoo boys,” has led to the death of an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officer and left another seriously injured in Onitsha, Anambra State, according to News360 Nigeria.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when EFCC operatives from the Enugu zonal office attempted to apprehend a group of cybercrime suspects. During the operation, an assistant superintendent, who had recently completed a promotional exam, was killed, while his colleague suffered critical injuries in the ambush.
The spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack, stating that an investigation is currently underway.
“The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing. One suspect is in custody, and the weapon used in the attack has been recovered. More information will be provided as the investigation progresses,” Ikenga stated.
