Katsina LG Election: Angry Residents Chase APC Candidate Out of Katsina Community

Bello Lawal Yandaki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Kaita Local Government in Katsina State’s upcoming February 15 elections, was forced to leave Yanhoho ward on Friday after an angry reaction from local residents.
Yandaki, who is seeking re-election for a second term and also serves as the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), had visited the area to seek support for his campaign. However, his past unfulfilled promises appear to have fueled the residents’ frustration.
As word spread that Yandaki and his campaign team had arrived, large numbers of residents gathered, and tensions quickly escalated. The group began chanting protests, with some carrying sticks to force the candidate and his team to leave. Others hurled objects, including stones, in their direction.
Ultimately, Yandaki and his team were driven out of the community, marking a dramatic turn in his campaign efforts.
