After 7 Years! Boy Who Was Kidnapped In PH In 2017 Finds His Way Back Home

Words can’t express how I feel right now. I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.

My nephew, who was abducted in Port Harcourt back in 2017, has miraculously found his way back home from Ondo State. He was taken when he was just about 8 years old by a man named Taye, who used to work at the slaughterhouse in PH.

Apparently, Taye had been posing as the boy’s father in Ondo. But things unraveled when someone grew suspicious and challenged his claim. The police got involved, requested a DNA test, and Taye fled before they could detain him.

I truly can’t explain how this happened — it’s nothing short of divine intervention. All I can say is: THANK GOD!

My nephew is safe now, but some things have changed. He now speaks with a Yoruba accent and seems to have forgotten his Igbo roots — especially Ngwa, which he once spoke so fluently from my mother’s side of the family.

I want to be clear — this isn’t about tribal blame or bias. I’m strongly against ethnic stereotyping. Interestingly, we later found out it was my nephew himself who reported Taye to the authorities. Before the police intervened, he had managed to gather about 30,000 Naira through hustling to start his journey back.

He’s always been sharp and bold — even as a kid, we used to call him “Ojukwu” because of his fearless spirit. I’m so proud of the man he’s becoming.

Latest update: He just showed us a piece of cardboard where he had written down contacts for Taye’s wife and sister. He’d been working at a car wash in Samrock, Akure. He revealed that his name had been changed to Olamide Awofolaju and that Taye’s full name is Adetayo Awofolaju.

Even more shocking — we’ve now learned Taye actually sold him to a man in Ife for ₦300,000. That man used to send him on errands, and from what my nephew shared, he saved small amounts like ₦1,500 here and there, all in a bid to raise transport money to return home.

We’re currently at the police station as more of this unbelievable story unfolds.

Honestly, the more I hear, the more I’m in awe of God’s grace. This is nothing but a miracle.
