BREAKING: Seven Akwa Ibom House of Reps Members Defect to APC

In a dramatic political shift, seven lawmakers from Akwa Ibom State have abandoned the opposition parties—the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Young Progressives Party (YPP)—to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors, including Unyime Idem, Martins Esin, Paul Ekpo, Uduak Alphonsus, Okpolupm Etteh, Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, and Mark Esset, made their move public during Thursday’s House of Representatives plenary session.
Martins Esin, formerly representing Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko Federal Constituency under the PDP, pointed to ongoing internal crises within his former party as a key reason for his defection.
This significant realignment is set to shake up the political landscape in Akwa Ibom and beyond.
