A tragic incident occurred in Edo State as a Nigerian soldier was carried away by strong water currents after falling into a drainage channel.
Eyewitnesses say the soldier was trying to leap across the drain when he slipped and fell in. The force of the water quickly swept him away before anyone could intervene.
Despite efforts by nearby residents to save him, their attempts were unsuccessful. The incident has left many shaken and calling for better safety measures around open drainage systems, especially during the rainy season.
