Soldier Kills Phone Repairer In Adamawa Over Girlfriend’s Delayed Phone Repair
Tragedy struck in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State, after a phone technician, Alkasum Ibrahim, was allegedly killed by a soldier over a delayed phone repair.
According to local reports, Alkasum was working on a customer’s phone when the woman—frustrated by how long it was taking—called her boyfriend, a soldier identified as Lance Corporal Ahmada A.
The soldier reportedly showed up at the repair shop in a rage and beat Alkasum so badly that he lost consciousness. Despite efforts to save him, Alkasum later died from his injuries.
The news has spread fast, and people are furious. Many are asking how a minor issue like a phone delay could end with someone being beaten to death. Calls for justice have flooded social media and local communities, with people demanding that the soldier be arrested and prosecuted immediately.
Alkasum’s family and neighbors are devastated. A young man trying to make a living was killed over something that could have easily been resolved with words.
So far, there’s been no official statement from the Nigerian Army. But the pressure is building. People are demanding answers—and action. They want:
The soldier arrested and tried in court, not behind closed military doors
Compensation for the victim’s family
A clear message from the military that violence like this won’t be tolerated
The bigger question now is: will the system actually hold this soldier accountable, or will this become just another case swept under the rug?
