How They Decided To Kill Me: Lady Shares Terrifying ‘One-chance’ Ordeal In Lagos

A Nigerian lady has taken to TikTok to share a harrowing experience of narrowly escaping death after boarding a “one-chance” vehicle in Lagos—a terrifying encounter that has since sparked an outcry across social media. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to her emotional narration, the incident happened recently while she was on her way home to Badagry after assisting her mother with some shopping. She boarded a cab at Iyana Oworo, unaware that her journey would turn into a nightmare.

“On Saturday, I got to the bus stop at Iyana Oworo. A cab stopped—it was driven by a middle-aged man. I was going home to Badagry with some bags. I had been helping my mum carry goods she bought,” she explained.

As the ride progressed, the driver picked up another male passenger between Iyana Oworo and Gbagada. Not long after, the situation escalated drastically.

He stopped between Gbagada and Charlie Boy. He asked the other man why he picked me up, and the man said they picked me because they wanted to kill me.”

What followed was a brutal attack. The driver reportedly began punching her and dragging her by her clothes while still maneuvering the vehicle. The other man held her down, preventing her from defending herself. They tried to suffocate her with a cloth and even attempted to stab her with a knife.

The lady said they picked up a third accomplice, who forced her to sit between them. She was then taken to an unknown location where the beatings continued. Her phone was seized, and her bank account was emptied.

“They withdrew money from my account and made me call people to send more money. They even discussed sexually assaulting me,” she said tearfully.

Eventually, the assailants dumped her at Oshodi and fled the scene.

Public Reaction: Outrage and Fear

The video has since gone viral, prompting an outpouring of support and drawing attention to the alarming rate of “one-chance” crimes in Lagos. Here are some reactions from social media users:

A Call for Action
