Charly Boy Speaks Out Following Buhari’s Reported Death: One Down, More to Go, may Karma Deal with Him
Outspoken entertainer and social activist, Charles Oputa—better known as Charly Boy or AreaFada—has shared a blunt reaction to the reported passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Charly Boy called the development a sign that justice, in the form of karma, may finally be catching up with Nigeria’s political elite—those he holds responsible for decades of national decline.
Reflecting on the moment, he wrote:
“One down, more to go.”
Drawing parallels with the public celebration that followed the death of former military ruler Sani Abacha, Charly Boy said the passing of oppressive leaders often brings relief to citizens who suffered under their rule.
“Each time a dictator dies, people rejoice,” he noted. “They celebrate the fall of someone who once seemed untouchable.”
He didn’t hold back in criticizing the trend of Nigerian leaders dying abroad, rather than in the country they governed and left in disrepair.
“They flee the chaos they created, only to die peacefully in another man’s land. Not in our neglected hospitals, not among the people they claimed to serve—but in foreign luxury, far from the reality they imposed on others.”
In a pointed message, he added:
“Life keeps the receipts. They’ll keep departing one after another—the corrupt, the cruel, the ones who sold off a nation for personal gain. Karma doesn’t sleep.”
Charly Boy warned that while citizens may seem silent, accountability awaits.
“Let them run to London or anywhere else, but the truth always catches up. This is just the beginning.”
Earlier, he also posted a cutting remark on Instagram alongside an image believed to depict the former president:
“May karma deal with him the way he dealt with suffering Nigerians. If this truly is Buhari, then God, please handle him as he handled us.”
