Osun 2026: How APC Plots To Win Osun

Fresh details have emerged surrounding Governor Ademola Adeleke’s rumored defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), with sources suggesting that loyalists of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, played a pivotal role in shutting down the possibility.
According to insider accounts from a closed-door APC strategy meeting held last Friday at Ilerioluwa House in Osogbo, party stakeholders came together to chart their course for reclaiming power in Osun ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections. The meeting, reportedly initiated by Minister Oyetola, focused on political strategy, Adeleke’s alleged overtures to the APC, and the ongoing standoff over local government allocations in the state.

Discussions at the meeting also touched on the party’s future prospects, including efforts to rally financial and grassroots support in preparation for the 2026 elections. The unnamed party stalwart reportedly revisited the circumstances surrounding APC’s 2022 loss to the PDP, attributing it to the absence of federal influence under then-President Muhammadu Buhari. He assured attendees that such a scenario would not repeat itself under the current administration.
Interestingly, it was revealed that Governor Adeleke’s rumored entry into the APC was not just unfounded, but actively blocked by a high-ranking state APC figure. This party member is believed to have secured Tinubu’s nod that the APC’s prospects in Osun are strong enough without Adeleke switching sides.
According to insiders, part of the APC’s current strategy includes leveraging the lingering stalemate over the state’s LG funds. By maintaining the
