If Anything Goes Wrong During Labor, Save Me—Not the Baby”: Is This a Normal Statement from a Responsible Woman?
“If Anything Goes Wrong During Labor, Save Me—Not the Baby”: Is This a Normal Statement from a Responsible Woman?
It’s widely believed that a mother’s love for her child is deep and instinctive—something that comes naturally. That’s why I was shocked by a post I came across on X (formerly Twitter) today.
A woman boldly stated that if complications arise during childbirth, doctors should prioritize saving her life over the baby’s. While I understand that every life is important, this kind of message feels unsettling to me.
It made me question whether all women still carry that natural bond and selflessness often associated with motherhood—especially among some women today.
Is this kind of mindset normal? Can a responsible woman truly mean such a statement? I’m genuinely curious about how others see it.
