Lady Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Boyfriend to Death in Ondo Over Cheating Allegations

Police in Ondo State have confirmed the arrest of a woman, Augustina Mowari, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, during a dispute that turned fatal in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area.
According to reports, the couple got into a heated argument on Sunday over accusations of infidelity. The confrontation escalated, leading to a violent outburst in which Mowari allegedly attacked Michael with a pair of scissors.
Ondo State Police spokesperson, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the suspect is currently in custody while an investigation is underway.
“There was a dispute between the two individuals that resulted in the suspect stabbing the man with scissors. He later died while receiving treatment in the hospital,” Ayanlade said. “She has been arrested and will face charges in court once the investigation is completed.”
Sources close to the couple revealed that they had been living together in a one-room apartment and had frequent arguments—often sparked by suspicions of unfaithfulness. According to one source, the latest altercation was no different.
“Augustina believed Michael was cheating on her, and things got out of hand. She stabbed him in the leg during the argument,” the source said.
Initially, Michael was taken to a nearby medical center where he was treated and discharged. However, his condition worsened after he returned home, as his leg reportedly became severely swollen. He was rushed back to the hospital late Sunday, but doctors were unable to save him.
Authorities say the investigation will determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and inform any charges to befiled in court.
