Armed Bandits Kill JIBWIS Zalau Discipline Officer in Bauchi, Abduct His Wife in Deadly Midnight Raid

Residents of Zalau community in Bauchi State have been thrown into mourning after armed bandits launched a brutal midnight attack that left a discipline officer of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) dead and his wife abducted. The chilling incident has heightened fears in the area, adding to the growing concerns over increasing insecurity across parts of northern Nigeria.
According to local sources, the bandits stormed the officer’s residence under the cover of darkness, firing shots indiscriminately to scare off neighbours while forcing their way into the home. The victim, whose commitment to community service and religious activities was widely acknowledged, was reportedly shot at close range when he attempted to resist the attackers.
Witnesses say the attackers quickly seized his wife after killing him and fled before security operatives could arrive. The operation, believed to have lasted less than 20 minutes, left residents terrified, with many describing it as one of the most brazen acts of violence the community has witnessed in recent times.
Community members have expressed anger and frustration over what they describe as inadequate security presence in the area despite recurring threats from armed groups. Local leaders have appealed to the Bauchi State Government and security agencies to intensify patrols, track down the perpetrators, and rescue the abducted woman safely.
Security analysts warn that the attack reflects a troubling pattern of targeted killings and kidnappings by criminal groups seeking ransom or influence. They argue that unless coordinated security strategies are strengthened, more communities may continue to fall victim to such violent raids.
As Zalau mourns the tragic loss of the JIBWIS discipline officer, prayers and support continue to pour in for the safe return of his wife. Meanwhile, residents remain anxious, hoping authorities will act swiftly to prevent another nigh
t of terror.
