Lagos State Govt Sets To Prosecute Managers For Reopening Sealed Restaurant
Two managers at Kingfisher, a restaurant in the Lekki area of Lagos State, have been arrested after they broke the government seal used to shut the facility and resume full operations.
This was disclosed in a post on the official X handle of the Senior Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, on Monday.
According to Gawat, the Commissioner for the Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, and the General Manager of the state’s Environmental Protection Agency, Tunde Ajayi, discovered this on Sunday night during a routine compliance of sealed facilities in the area.
Gawat added, “The Governor’s monitoring team provided security backup, and two managers were arrested at about 12:30 a.m. with the help of the CSO to the Governor.
“They will be charged to court today and face the maximum consequence of their actions.”
Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency sealed some entertainment centres in Lekki Phase 1 on Saturday for repeated environmental violations.
The affected establishments include Red Bar, Kingfisher, Sea Lounge, HOV Lounge, Circa, Bolivar, and Bay Lounge.
