A 17-year-old boy Arrested For Defiling Neighbour’s 8-Year-Old Daughter In Ogun

A 17-year-old boy, Jamiu Adebayo, has been taken into custody by the Ogun State Police for allegedly assaulting his neighbor’s eight-year-old daughter in the Aregbe area of Abeokuta, the state’s capital.

According to reports from FIRST CLASS GISTS, the suspect reportedly enticed the young girl into his parents’ living room, where he allegedly instructed her to remove her underwear before assaulting her.

The police have confirmed the arrest and are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the full details surrounding the crime.

On Sunday, Omolola Odutola, a spokesperson for the police, shared that the victim’s mother, identified only as Olabode, was not home when neighbors contacted her, informing her that her daughter was bleeding from her private parts. Initially, the girl told neighbors that a stick had caused the injury.

Upon returning home and witnessing the bleeding, Olabode was said to be shocked and frightened. She struggled to understand the cause of the injury and attempted to get her daughter to explain. Despite repeated questioning, the child maintained her story that a stick had caused the bleeding.

However, after further persuasion, the girl eventually revealed to her mother that Jamiu Adebayo, the 17-year-old neighbor, had sexually assaulted her. She recounted that he had lured her into his living room, where he then assaulted her.

The police spokesperson, Odutola, further explained that after the assault, the suspect took the victim to the bathroom to clean the blood and urged her to change her underwear. He also convinced her to maintain the false explanation that a stick had caused the injury.

Law enforcement promptly apprehended the suspect, and a medical examination has been arranged for the victim. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

In a similar case reported by PUNCH Metro last September, a 55-year-old man, Hassan Wasiu, was arrested for allegedly raping his 13-year-old neighbor in his apartment in Sagamu. Like in this recent case, the victim suffered severe bleeding and required medical attention.
