Adamawa Police Arrest Five-Member Gang Menacing Yola Residents
The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a five-member gang responsible for terrorizing the residents of Yola, the state’s capital.
In a statement released on Monday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, announced, “The Adamawa State Police Command has ramped up efforts against the shilla gang activities within the state, leading to the arrest of five suspects.” The suspects identified are: Hassan Zubairu, 18; Naziru Muhammed, 20; Sadik Adamu, 18; Adamu Muhammad, 20; and ThankGod Iliya, 18.
According to the statement, the suspects live in various locations within the Yola North area of the state.
“These individuals were captured by the Command’s operatives after attacking numerous homes and innocent people with dangerous weapons, robbing them of their valuables in the state. On May 25, 2024, they armed themselves with lethal weapons and assaulted a residence on Port Harcourt Street, Nassarawo Ward, Yola North Local Government Area, injuring the occupants and stealing their phones,” the statement elaborated.
Speaking to Arewa FIRST CLASS GISTS, the spokesperson revealed that investigations into the gang’s criminal activities led to the arrest of these five individuals, while others remain at large.
Nguroje added that five mobile phones and several dangerous weapons were seized from the arrested suspects.
“The suspects will be prosecuted to ensure justice is served,” assured Nguroje.
The Command has urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities to the police.
