AFCON Qualifier: CAF Sets Dates for Super Eagles’ Final Matches
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the schedule for Nigeria’s last qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Morocco from December 2025 to January 2026.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Super Eagles will face the Republic of Benin and Rwanda on November 14 and 18, respectively. The match against Benin will occur at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on November 14, kicking off at 8 p.m. Nigerian time.
CAF has appointed Senegalese referee Issa Sy to officiate this match, with his fellow countrymen Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura as assistant referees, and El Hadji Amadou Sy serving as the fourth official. The commissioner for this match will be Rene Williams Sere from Côte d’Ivoire, while Angolan Inacio Manuel Candido will act as the referee assessor.
The Super Eagles’ second match against Rwanda is scheduled for November 18 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, starting at 5 p.m. Moroccan officials will oversee this encounter, with Samir Guezzaz as the referee. His assistants will be Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune, with Kech Chaf Mustapha as the fourth official. Prosper Harrison Addo from Ghana will be the match commissioner, and Ali Mohamed Ahmed from Somalia will serve as the referee assessor.
