Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, Dismisses All Commissioners

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has disbanded his cabinet, explaining that his administration is in need of new energy.
This decision was announced on Friday during a farewell session at the Executive Council chamber in Uyo, the state’s capital.
Eno emphasized that the commissioners’ performance was not a factor in their dismissal, noting that all had fulfilled their duties effectively. Instead, he stated that the changes were necessary to bring in new expertise to further advance his government’s agenda.
“The decision to make changes is not based on any shortcomings of the commissioners. All of you have contributed to the success of the Arise Agenda. However, it is time to close one chapter, begin a new one, and keep progressing,” the governor said.
A special farewell dinner will be held on Friday evening at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Uyo to honor the outgoing cabinet members.
It has been reported that many of the commissioners had served for eight years under the previous administration of Udom Emmanuel.
