Anambra Police Neutralize Sit-At-Home Enforcer, Recover Firearm, Three Others Escape with Injuries
ANAMBRA POLICE NEUTRALIZE ILLEGAL SIT-AT-HOME ENFORCER, RECOVER LOCALLY MADE PISTOL, EXPANDED CARTRIDGES, PHONES, AND OTHER INCRIMINATING ITEMS
On May 29, 2024, at 2 pm, Anambra police, acting on gathered intelligence, set up an ambush at Oba flyover in Idemili South. They intercepted a group of four armed individuals on motorbikes, neutralizing one of them while the other three fled with gunshot wounds. The officers recovered a locally made Beretta pistol, four expanded cartridges, two phones, and materials indicating disloyalty to the Nigerian government.
Preliminary information suggests the armed men were planning to enforce an illegal sit-at-home order on May 30, 2024.
The police are currently pursuing the three individuals who escaped.
The Commissioner of Police has urged officers to maintain their aggressive stance against criminal elements, ensuring they have no opportunity to create chaos in the state.
