Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s Aide, Responds to Kwankwaso’s Claims About Political Status of Being Bigger than Peter Obi

Although I have never aligned myself with the Kwankwasiyya movement, I hold Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso in high regard as a notable figure in our political landscape. However, I take issue with his recent assertion in an interview in Kano, where he claimed to be politically more significant than Peter Obi.
When we examine the results from the 2023 presidential election, it’s clear that Peter Obi received 6,101,533 votes and emerged as the frontrunner in 11 states, reflecting substantial national backing. In contrast, Senator Kwankwaso received 1,496,687 votes and only led in Kano.
These figures indicate that, at least regarding the 2023 election, Peter Obi wields considerably greater political influence nationwide. Therefore, in this context, it’s evident that Peter Obi holds a more prominent position than Rabiu Kwank
waso.
