Bauchi State Government Denies Allegations of N400 Million Budget for Computers as a Ridiculous Lie

The Bauchi State Government has vehemently rejected allegations that it allocated N400 million in the 2025 budget to purchase six computers for the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), describing the claim as a “complete falsehood.”
The allegation, which suggests an outrageous sum of N400 million for the procurement of only six computers, has been dismissed by the state government as an unfounded and reckless attempt to tarnish the reputation of Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration. In response to this baseless claim, the government emphasized that it was a deliberate and misleading piece of propaganda with no basis in reality.
The state clarified that the actual budget allocation for IT infrastructure is N250 million, aimed at acquiring approximately 150 computers. These will be distributed across various important offices, including the SSG’s office, the Bauchi Environmental Protection Agency, the Hajj Commission, the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Service, and selected secondary schools. This initiative is part of the state’s broader commitment to modernizing its institutions and advancing digital infrastructure across various sectors.
The government further condemned the false narrative of N400 million for six computers, which they described as a desperate attempt by detractors to undermine the administration’s achievements. The falsehood, according to the government, only exposes the lack of credible evidence on the part of those spreading the allegations. Bauchi State remains undeterred and committed to its goal of delivering meaningful progress and development for its people.
