Boko Haram Strikes Yobe Islamic School: See the Numbers of Students Killed, Injured”

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Faudiya Islamic Boarding School in Geidam, Yobe State, in the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024. The assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles and riding motorcycles, stormed the school around 4:00 a.m., opening fire indiscriminately.
The attack resulted in the death of three students and left one injured. The deceased students have been identified as Muhammadu Saleh, 22; Ahmed Abdulrahman, 21; and Abdullahi Adamu, 21. The injured student, Sani Haruna, 25, is currently receiving treatment at Geidam Specialists Hospital.
The police confirmed the assault, noting that despite their swift response, the attackers had already inflicted significant harm. Geidam, a town previously known for its struggles with Boko Haram insurgency, remains a volatile area.
