BREAKING: Governor Alia Appoints New SSG Following Prof. Alkali’s Resignation

On Monday, Prof. Joseph Alkali resigned from his position as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Benue State, citing personal reasons for his departure.
In response, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia swiftly appointed Barrister Deborah Aber Serumun as the new SSG on Tuesday morning.
A press release from Governor Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, stated:
“Governor Hyacinth Alia has announced the appointment of Barrister Deborah Aber Serumun as the new Secretary to the State Government. This appointment follows the resignation of Prof. Joseph Alkali, who tendered his resignation on Monday, explaining that he needed to address personal matters.
Governor Alia extended his gratitude to Prof. Alkali for his year and three months of dedicated service and wished him well in overcoming his personal challenges.
Barrister Aber, a seasoned solicitor and arbitrator, brings to the role a strong track record of initiative and analytical expertise. Her background includes a degree from the University of Jos and Nasarawa State University. Governor Alia is confident that Barrister Aber’s experience and commitment will significantly benefit the administration.
The Governor urged her to align her work with the administration’s vision and prioritize the state’s interests in all her official duties.
The new appointment is effective immediately.”
