Change Your Policies or Face Defeat in 2027, Kano NNPP Warns Tinubu

Change Your Policies or Face Defeat in 2027, Kano NNPP Warns Tinubu

Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider his government’s “anti-people policies” or risk being voted out of office in the 2027 elections.

Dungurawa also dismissed rumors surrounding the NNPP’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, suggesting he might defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking to the media on Thursday, the NNPP chairman emphasized that the party’s influence is growing rapidly across Nigeria, with structures now established in all 36 states and local government areas, positioning the NNPP for success in both state and federal elections.

He called on the federal government to prioritize policies that address the challenges Nigerians face, warning that failing to change course would result in electoral defeat for the ruling party.

“President Tinubu’s administration must stop pursuing policies that harm the people. If this continues, prepare for a loss in 2027. Either you change your ways, or we, the Nigerian people, will change you,” Dungurawa stated firmly.

Dungurawa criticized the President’s approach, noting that from his inauguration speech on May 29, 2023, Tinubu began enacting measures that were detrimental to ordinary Nigerians. He suggested that these policies reflect a disregard for the well-being of the citizens.

“It seems as though Nigerians have done something to offend the President. These policies have been consistently harmful, and it’s only a matter of time before we ensure that Tinubu is voted out in 2027. Kwankwaso, a true democrat, will step in to lead,” he added.

Dungurawa also took the opportunity to praise the leadership of the Kano State Government, which he described as a model of democratic governance. He highlighted the significant infrastructure developments, empowerment initiatives, and advancements in human capital that have transformed Kano into a modern city capable of competing globally.

“We are fortunate to have a visionary, God-fearing governor who has brought about transformative changes in Kano. The state now boasts state-of-the-art facilities, and its progress is evident both in urban and rural areas,” he remarked.

The NNPP chairman expressed concerns over what he perceived as the APC-led administration’s push towards creating a one-party state, cautioning against the erosion of democracy.

“Kano stands as a beacon of effective leadership. It is now time for us to replicate this success at the national level in 2027,” Dungurawa concluded.
