This decision reflects the political weight of Constituency 1, which is home to several high-profile figures, including two ministers, a commissioner, the senatorial chairman, and the chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the National Sports Festival.

Following thorough discussions, the APC leadership has put forward the following three candidates for consideration:

– Babatunde Adeluola (Delu)

– Ayo Shomide (AY-Show)

– Akamo Sunday Oluwagbemiga (Akamo)

This stage of the selection has been noted for its calm and organized nature, marking a significant moment in the local political landscape.

As the election approaches, attention is now focused on Governor Dapo Abiodun and APC leadership to finalize the selection of the party’s candidate. The decision will be pivotal for setting the stage for a competitive general election, with the chosen candidate expected to lead the APC’s efforts in the November council elections.
