Emir Sanusi Calls for Divine Justice, Prays Fire Will Consume Those Seeking Chaos in Kano

In a strong statement, the Emir of Kano, Lamido Muhammad Sanusi II, has called on divine intervention to protect the people of Kano from those who seek to sow discord and violence in the state. Responding to the current leadership struggle in Kano, he urged the residents to maintain peace and refrain from participating in any form of unrest. He emphasized that the ongoing conflict was ultimately in God’s hands, and he prayed for God’s protection over the peaceful citizens of the state.
Sanusi’s words came in the wake of the recent Appeal Court ruling on January 10, 2025, which instructed the Chief Judge of Kano to assign a new judge to reconsider the case involving the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, the Kano State Government, and himself, the 16th Emir. The Emir reminded the public that no matter the provocations, they should not resort to violence. He prayed that those plotting harm would face the consequences of their actions, invoking a powerful imagery of fire consuming those who wish to disrupt Kano’s peace.
“This struggle is not ours; it is God’s,” Sanusi remarked, urging the people to trust in divine justice and refrain from engaging with those who seek to undermine the state’s stability. He closed with a warning that those who challenge God’s will would ultimately have to bear the repercussions of their actions.
