FA Slaps Leeds Boss Daniel Farke with Ban and £8,000 Fine Over Referee Confrontation

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has received a one match touchline suspension and an £8,000 fine after confronting match officials following his team’s defeat to Manchester City.
The disciplinary action was confirmed on Friday by The Football Association, which found the German coach guilty of improper conduct after the Premier League encounter last month.
City secured a narrow 1–0 victory at Elland Road, but tensions escalated at the final whistle when Farke walked onto the pitch to challenge the referee’s decisions. The incident resulted in the Leeds manager being shown a red card.
According to the FA, the charge stemmed from Farke entering the field of play to confront match officials in breach of the game’s regulations.
The governing body stated that the manager admitted the charge and accepted the standard punishment, which includes a one-match suspension and the financial penalty.
Assistant coach Edmund Riemer later described the manager’s approach toward the officials as overly forceful, acknowledging that the reaction crossed acceptable boundaries.
Leeds currently sit 15th in the Premier League standings as they continue their push to maintain top-flight status. The Yorkshire side will return to action this weekend when they host Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup , a fixture that also carries added interest given Farke’s previous managerial spell with the Canaries.
With the suspension now confirmed, the Leeds boss will be forced to watch the next match from the stands as the club prepares for a crucial run of fixtures in both league and cup competitions.
