FIRE OUTBURST: Chris Oyakhilome React to Lagos Church Fire Incident

Chris Oyakhilome, the president and founder of Loveworld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has spoken about the recent fire at the church’s Oregun branch in Lagos.

The fire engulfed the white building in Ikeja on Sunday morning, and thick black smoke was still emanating from the structure at the time of reporting.
Firefighters from the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service were on the scene to extinguish the blaze.
During a church service, Oyakhilome expressed that the fire has provided an opportunity to construct a larger and more suitable building. He mentioned, “Some years ago, I wished I had a better design for the affected place. But then, it would have required that we take off the roof. But now, I’ve got the opportunity to have something better there.”
Oyakhilome continued, “When something like this happens, what does God think? God just gives us an opportunity to do something about it. What are we going to do? The house is gone, we clear out the place and build a better one. A more beautiful one. That is what we are going to do. Let the devil lick his wounds. We must look at life from the spiritual. This is not what we call an accident. Everything that happens in our lives is all planned.”
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has confirmed that the fire is under control.
Margaret Adeseye, the director of the service, issued a statement attributing the spread of the fire to the church’s initial attempt to handle the situation independently, without involving the Lagos fire service. She added that the cause of the fire will be disclosed after a thorough investigation.
