The Ondo State police have apprehended two men, Ifeanyi Obiefunna, 36, and Joseph Agwu, 43, who are part of a gang known for stealing vehicle brain boxes and other valuables. This group has been linked to a wider syndicate involved in car theft and vandalism.
During a press conference at the police headquarters in Akure, Commissioner of Police Abayomi Oladipo announced that further investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, Obinna Uyammadu, 32, and Onyeka Okoye, 38.
Agwu, who resides in Akure, admitted to selling second-hand goods and acting as an informant, alerting other gang members to come to Ondo for their operations before returning to Lagos.
The suspects will face charges in court once the investigation concludes.
