Fresh Embarrassment for Adeleke as Newly Commissioned ₦12bn Road Gives Way

The Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council, has condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke following the catastrophic collapse of a newly commissioned road in Ila-Orangun.
The 3.5 kilometre road commissioned two weeks ago was partly awarded to Ben-Lad Multi-links Limited, a company registered as General merchandise and clearing and forwarding agency for 9.3 billion and later reviewed to over 12billion naira.
The immediate failure of a part of this infrastructure directly validates the APC’s long-standing assertions regarding the current administration’s fiscal recklessness and patronage of incompetent contractors.
Images and eyewitness accounts from yesterday showed construction workers already attempting to reconstruct portions of the failed road.
This raises serious questions about engineering standards and regulatory oversight in Osun State.
Our internal investigations have revealed a systemic crisis across the state’s infrastructure, over 15 newly constructed roads across Osun have already collapsed or shown severe structural defects.
Billions of naira in taxpayer funds are being funneled into substandard projects, a major disaster has only been averted because these roads have not yet faced heavy vehicular traffic.
Insulting the Sensibility of Osun People is an absolute mockery of governance that a road commissioned for public use less than 14 days ago is now given way.
Governor Adeleke continues to insult the collective sensibility of Osun citizens by celebrating cosmetic, subpar projects while bleeding the state’s treasury dry through questionable contract awards.
This latest disaster is a clear, undeniable indication of the governor’s incapacity to deliver sustainable development.
The APC demands an immediate, independent audit of all road projects executed under the Adeleke administration, Osun people deserve safety, transparency, and value for their money—not death traps disguised as dividends of democracy.
