From Desperation to Opportunity: Woman Receives N500K and Sewing Machine After Viral Mattress Incident

In a remarkable turn of events, Blessing, a young mother from Benue State, became the center of attention when she took a man’s mattress after he refused to pay for their night together. Her story quickly spread online, capturing the sympathy of many. After the man offered her his home theater or mattress as compensation, Blessing chose to take the mattress when he left with the theater.

Sharing her struggles in an interview with humanitarian Ukan P Kurugh, Blessing revealed that her journey into sex work was born from hardship, following her mother’s death and a challenging marriage. As a mother of two, she sought to provide for her family on the streets.
Fortunately, philanthropist Adoo Eugenia Ter drew attention to her situation, leading to a wave of support from compassionate Nigerians. They donated N500,000 and a sewing machine, allowing Blessing to start a business and move toward a more stable life. This transition represents a new beginning for her, as she aims to rebuild her life and support her children.
