Guardiola Vows Man City Will Keep Chasing Titles Despite Tough Fixtures

Manager Pep Guardiola has reaffirmed Manchester City’s determination to compete for silverware on every front this season, insisting his team will not back down despite a demanding schedule and a difficult challenge in Europe.
The Premier League champions are still within touching distance of league leaders Arsenal, while also remaining active in multiple competitions. City have already secured a place in the EFL Cup final and reached the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup. However, they face an uphill task in the UEFA Champions League, where they trail Real Madrid 3–0 from the first leg ahead of the return encounter next week.
Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with West Ham United, Guardiola stressed that his immediate focus remains on each match rather than dwelling on future fixtures.
According to reports carried by The Punch, the City manager noted that the team’s long-standing success has been built on maintaining intensity in every game.
“When you have won many trophies, every match becomes important,” Guardiola said during a press briefing. “We have fought hard throughout the season for the Premier League, and we will continue that fight until the very end.”
He acknowledged the difficulty of balancing several competitions simultaneously, explaining that squad rotation is necessary due to the demanding schedule.
“We cannot field the same players every three days,” he added. “Right now my focus is on the next game. After that, we will look ahead.”
Reports by The Guardian Nigeria indicate that Manchester City face a particularly intense run of fixtures over the coming days. The trip to face West Ham will be followed by the decisive Champions League second leg against Real Madrid, before a major showdown with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.
Guardiola also warned that the upcoming match against West Ham could prove tricky, especially with the London club battling to secure their league position under manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
“As we approach the final stage of the season, every team has something to fight for,” Guardiola said. “Some are chasing European qualification, while others are trying to avoid relegation. At this point there are no easy matches.”
The City boss reiterated that his players remain determined to compete until the campaign’s final weeks, emphasizing that the Premier League remains one of the toughest competitions in world football.
“We are still in the race and we are desperate to win,” he said.
Sports analysts quoted by The Nation note that City’s ability to navigate the upcoming fixtures could determine whether Guardiola’s side finishes the season with multiple trophies or falls short in key competitions.
With crucial games looming in England and Europe, Manchester City’s resolve will soon be tested as they attempt to keep their hopes alive on all fronts.
