Gunmen Ambush Kogi Travelers and Clash with Local Hunters in Violent Attack

Bandits
On Sunday, chaos erupted in Kogi State as unidentified gunmen targeted travelers on the remote Takete Ide to Aghara road. The attackers, believed to be Fulani marauders, commandeered the road in the afternoon and continued their rampage into the evening.
The assailants harassed and detained travelers, forcibly taking their belongings and subjecting those who resisted to severe beatings.
Residents of Takete Ide, a serene farming community in the Mopa-Muro local government area, became aware of the situation around 6:00 p.m. Local hunters swiftly mobilized to confront the bandits near the Eba River.
However, the hunters fell into an ambush, resulting in a gunfight during which three were injured by gunfire and one went missing. The confrontation ultimately drove the attackers away, but not before significant disruption and injury.
