Housekeeper Admits Killing Justice Ajumogobia’s Daughter in Lagos

A domestic worker employed by Aribemchukwu, the murdered daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, has confessed to being involved in her death, a police source revealed on Thursday.
According to PUNCH Metro, Aribemchukwu, affectionately known as Chuchu, was found dead at her Parkview Estate home in Ikoyi, Lagos State. Although family sources indicated she was killed Tuesday night, her body was discovered outside her residence’s gate on Wednesday morning.
The police have arrested three domestic staff members, including a housekeeper, a security guard, and a driver, in connection with the crime. The housekeeper has admitted to her involvement during questioning, as confirmed by a police insider who requested anonymity due to restrictions on discussing the case.
The source explained that the murder occurred in Aribemchukwu’s room, with her body subsequently dragged outside and left by the gate to mislead investigators. Despite attempts to clean the scene, traces of blood remained visible due to the haste and darkness of the night.
“The housekeeper did not deny her involvement, and her confession matched the physical evidence found at the scene,” the source said.
Following the murder, the suspects reportedly stole valuables from the deceased’s home. The three domestic workers were hired together a week prior to the incident.
Aribemchukwu, a doctor who had recently gotten married, was the victim. Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that the investigation is ongoing and promised to provide updates as new information emerges.
