How I Was Paid #18,000 to Kill, and Harvest My Husband’s Organ for Rituals – Wife’s Heartbreaking Account

New details have emerged regarding the tragic death of Obaze Chikezie Idenyi, a Dubai-based man who was killed and dismembered by a group of suspected ritualists posing as friends. The victim’s wife, Blessing, and her brother, Kenneth Chiabuotu Odanwu, have shared their account, revealing that a gang of ritual killers from Mgbo, Iziangbo in Ebonyi State were responsible for the gruesome murder.
Blessing, speaking through her brother Kenneth, described her late husband as a kind and loving individual, who had returned to Nigeria after years in Dubai to marry her. They had been in a relationship for over a decade, and Chikezie stayed longer in Nigeria to support her through her youth service before they planned to return to Dubai together.
Kenneth explained that the deadly sequence of events began in March when two men from their community, Fabian and Odii Chibu, introduced Chikezie to a group of people from Iziangbo. The two men, who had returned from abroad, approached Chikezie with a business proposal and asked to borrow N1 million, claiming they had exhausted their business funds. Chikezie, cautious due to previous loans he had given to others without repayment, insisted on meeting their business partners first.
These business partners turned out to be figures known as “Chief” (Innocent Ajim Elebe) and “Elechi,” a local native doctor. After this introduction, Kenneth said his brother’s behavior changed. He started withdrawing money from his wife’s account at odd hours and engaging in increasingly suspicious activities. Despite Blessing’s concerns, Chikezie dismissed her worries, assuring her that he was simply dealing with friends.
At one point, he asked Blessing to transfer N2 million to his account, though she had already exceeded her daily withdrawal limit. She later transferred nearly N1 million, but a few hours later, Chikezie withdrew the remaining funds.
The situation took a darker turn in mid-September when Chikezie informed his wife that he was traveling to Lagos on a business trip. However, when his phone went silent and his number became unreachable, Blessing grew concerned. She reached out to family and friends, only to discover that Chikezie had never traveled to Lagos with the friend he mentioned.
The search for Chikezie intensified, and the family turned to a tracker, who traced his phone to a location in Izzi LGA, not far from the Cross River State border. This led to the arrest of Elechi, who was found wearing Chikezie’s clothes. Elechi led authorities to the location where Chikezie’s dismembered body had been dumped, and later, to where his head was kept.
In a shocking confession, Elechi and his accomplices revealed that they
