How Pastor Stabs Wife To Death In Anambra; Investigation Start

The Anambra State Government, through its Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, has initiated an investigation into the alleged murder of Mrs. Ogechukwu Okafor, who is said to have been killed by her husband, Mr. Elijah.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 13, 2024, but was only reported to the ministry after the deceased’s family raised concerns about the husband’s actions.
Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, the media aide to the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, issued a statement on Wednesday detailing the case. According to Ikeanyionwu, the suspect, identified as a pastor, is accused of the crime in the Nimo community, located in Njikoka Local Government Area.
The statement included remarks from Mr. Samuel Onuorah, the uncle of the deceased, who reported the case. Onuorah claimed that Elijah Emeka Ibeabuchi, the husband and a resident of Nimo, initially reported that Ogechukwu had fallen from a four-story building. However, upon visiting the mortuary, the family discovered that this account did not align with the evidence, raising further suspicions.
In response to the case, Commissioner Ify Obinabo has called on all stakeholders, including women’s groups, human rights advocates, and the public, to support efforts to secure justice for the deceased. Obinabo assured that the state government is committed to thoroughly investigating the matter and will keep the state governor informed to ensure that justice is served.
