Ijesaland Establishes Committee to Oversee Local Government Funds; See ReasonsĀ

Yinka Fasuyi
Yinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland in Osun State, officially launched a seven-member committee on Friday tasked with overseeing the allocation of funds to the six local government areas in the region.
During the inauguration in Ilesa, Fasuyi introduced the āIjesaland Independent Development Monitors,ā which will scrutinize the financial resources directed towards Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Oriade, and Obokun to ensure they are effectively used for community development.
He noted that the formation of this independent committee was inspired by a recent Supreme Court ruling affirming the autonomy of local councils. Fasuyi emphasized that the committee’s role is to promote transparency and accountability within the local government administrations, ensuring they deliver meaningful results and benefits to the residents of all six areas.
In response, the committee’s Chairman, Adigun Adewoye, expressed confidence in their ability to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
