Jeju Air Flight Crashes, See the Numbers Confirmed Dead, Survivors

A tragic plane crash occurred on December 29, 2024, at Muan International Airport in South Korea, involving a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800. The aircraft, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members, went down at 9:07 AM local time.
According to the National Fire Agency, of the 181 people on board, only two have survived, while the rest are presumed dead. The Boeing 737-800, a model with a seating capacity of 189, was relatively new, having been manufactured in August 2009, making it 15 years old at the time of the crash.
Initial reports suggest that the crash was caused by a malfunction in the aircraft’s landing gear. The incident has left the nation in shock, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disaster.
