Kebbi LG Chairman Debunks U.S. Lawmaker’s Claim, Confirms All Abducted Maga Students Are Muslims

The Chairman of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has firmly rejected comments attributed to U.S. legislator Riley Moore, who claimed that the kidnapping of the Maga school girls occurred in a predominantly Christian community.
Aliyu described the assertion as inaccurate and potentially inflammatory, stressing that every student abducted from the school is Muslim. He warned that such misinformation could heighten religious sensitivities at a time when authorities are concentrating on securing the safe return of the children.
He further noted that the Maga community, which falls under the Zuru Emirate, has a long-standing reputation for harmony and has never been known for religious conflict. The chairman urged Moore to avoid making unverified remarks that could damage Nigeria’s image or threaten national cohesion.
