Massive Fire at Trade Fair Lagos Destroys Goods Worth Billions

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, a devastating fire at Trade Fair in Lagos State destroyed goods valued at billions of naira. The blaze engulfed an entire warehouse with six assembly lines, impacting equipment, small forklifts, and various household items such as televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the combined efforts of the LASEMA Elife Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Federal Fire Service, NEMA, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS) were crucial in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to neighboring structures.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
