My Focus is not on the 2027 Elections, Says President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has clarified that his current priority is not the 2027 general elections but rather the urgent need to revamp Nigeria’s economy for the benefit of its citizens.

This declaration coincides with endorsements from notable members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including former National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, ex-Ogun State Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) have also shown their support for Tinubu’s re-election and for APC candidates in the upcoming elections.

These remarks were made during the 2024 South West Assembly of the APC, held on Saturday at Victoria Island and hosted by Sanwo-Olu, who is the Zonal Coordinator for the APC.

The assembly drew a substantial crowd of party leaders and stakeholders from the South-West, including senators, House of Representatives members, State Assembly representatives, and local government officials.

At this gathering, which marked the first assembly since Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential victory, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi delivered a keynote address, commending the President as a “listening leader” committed to achieving his goals.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu called on Nigerians to exercise patience as his administration strives for meaningful progress. The meeting also tackled crucial topics regarding the party’s ongoing development, particularly in the South-West region.
