My Life Got Better After Mohbad’s Death – Father Shares How His Life Improved

Mr. Joseph Aloba, father of the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as Mohbad, has shared that his life has taken a positive turn following his son’s tragic passing.
Mohbad, aged 26, died on September 11, 2023, under mysterious and disputed circumstances, and his death has sparked ongoing controversy, particularly as his autopsy has yet to be conducted due to conflicts between his family and his widow, Wumi.
In an interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Aloba opened up about the unexpected benefits he has experienced since his son’s death. He attributed the support he has received, including vehicles and other gifts, to the kindness of Nigerians.
When asked how his life had changed since Mohbad’s passing, Aloba stated, “Yes, I can say my life improved after his death. He was my friend, and he had planned many things for me that he was unable to complete due to circumstances beyond his control. After his death, I believe his spirit, combined with God’s will, has led people to assist me.”
Aloba mentioned that the gifts, including a car and a truck, were given to him by compassionate individuals, emphasizing the role of Mohbad’s spirit and divine influence in bringing these blessings his way.
He also claimed that much of Mohbad’s estate, including land and property, is controlled by his wife, Wunmi, and her family. Aloba explained that his son had intended to build him a church and buy him a house after completing his tour, but those plans were never realized.
Reflecting on his son’s rise to fame, Aloba noted that Mohbad’s success was a result of divine intervention, starting from a turning point in his early life. He recalled how Mohbad, who began his music career after money from his naming ceremony was stolen, had also been his backup singer when he was just a year old.
“Mohbad’s birth marked a significant change in my life, and his journey into music was a testimony to God’s hand in our lives,” Aloba concluded.
