NELFUND Reveals the day with the highest Number of Student Loan Applications

The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced a record number of student loan applications received within a 24-hour period. According to a statement from Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Corporate Communications, the Fund registered 9,687 student registrations in just one day, with 7,975 of these being completed loan applications.
Oluwatuyi noted that this marks the highest daily application volume since the launch of the student loan portal on May 25, 2024. She highlighted that this surge in applications underscores NELFUND’s critical role in facilitating access to higher education for students facing financial hardships.
“This significant increase in applications illustrates the pressing need for financial support among prospective higher education students,” Oluwatuyi said. “It reaffirms NELFUND’s commitment to aiding Nigerian youth and aligns with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Since the portal’s opening, the Fund has consistently received a high volume of applications, reflecting the urgent need for financial assistance. Oluwatuyi encouraged students experiencing financial difficulties to utilize the student loan option and apply through the NELFUND portal.
She added, “Our streamlined application process is designed for ease of use, and our support team is available to guide applicants and answer any questions. This achievement not only highlights the effectiveness of our outreach efforts and the confidence students have in the program but also serves as a reminder to those who have yet to apply.”
