New Era for ADC as David Mark, Aregbesola Take Charge Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its readiness to challenge and defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, following the recent appointments of Senator David Mark as Interim National Chairman and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as Interim National Secretary.
Speaking through a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olumide Onabajo, the State Chairman, Femi Soluade, expressed strong confidence that this new leadership will energize the party’s mission to take over power both in Ogun State and at the federal level.
The appointments, which were announced during a strategic gathering of opposition figures in Abuja on Tuesday night, were described by Soluade as a pivotal moment in the ADC’s journey toward becoming a formidable force in Nigerian politics.
“With the inclusion of respected statesmen like Senator David Mark and His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, we believe the ADC is better positioned to provide a credible alternative to the APC,” Soluade stated. “Their extensive experience in governance and unwavering commitment to democracy will undoubtedly strengthen our national and state structures.”
He further emphasized the Ogun ADC’s resolve to secure the governorship seat in 2027, adding that residents of the state deserve a government that truly reflects their values and developmental goals.
“This leadership alliance marks the beginning of a new era for the ADC. In Ogun State, we are determined to take over the leadership at Oke Mosan and offer citizens the transformative governance they have long awaited. Senator Mark and Aregbesola bring the gravitas and strategic insight needed to lead that change,” he added.
Soluade also called on party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders across the country to rally behind the new leadership and work together to build a more promising future for both Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
