News now: Rangers in pole position to beat …
Rangers are leading the race to sign Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, despite Celtic now showing interest, according to HITC.
The website reported on Tuesday (30 July) that Celtic are looking for alternatives to Norwich City’s Adam Idah and are potentially ready to hijack the Gers’ move.
The Light Blues, however, are still in “pole position” to sign the striker, who scored 31 goals last season.
Shankland’s contract with Hearts runs out next year, with the striker understood to want a new challenge.
Rangers would be silly to miss out on Lawrence Shankland
Rangers would be making a big mistake if they let Shankland slip through their fingers.
Shankland scored 31 goals last season and is eager for a new challenge. His impressive record at Hearts, with 59 goals in two seasons, shows he’s a top striker. The Glasgow-born forward is in his prime and ready to make a big impact.
Celtic are also eyeing Shankland, looking for alternatives after struggling to sign Norwich’s Idah permanently.
With Celtic’s interest growing, the Gers need to act fast to secure Shankland. Letting him go to their only title rivals would be a huge blow, especially since Shankland has scored six times against Celtic in just ten games.
Shankland’s strength, skill, and ability to score would make him the perfect addition to the Light Blues.
Missing out on him would strengthen the Gers’ biggest rival and arguably widen the gap between the two clubs. They need to seal the deal now and bring Shankland to Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, another Ibrox striker target missed a match for his team because a new bid is incoming for him.
