According to Customs Area Controller, Paul Bamisaiye, the smugglers attempted to flee by abandoning their boat and jumping into the sea when intercepted by the officers. As per standard protocol, the confiscated drugs will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and eventual destruction.
