Nigeria Customs Service Announces 2025 Recruitment: Full Guide and Application Details

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially launched its recruitment process for 2025, inviting applications for various positions across the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres. This announcement follows NCS’s approval to recruit a total of 3,927 officers, aimed at strengthening trade facilitation and supporting the nation’s economic recovery efforts, according to News360 Nigeria.

In the recruitment notice, the NCS cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant against fraudsters attempting to exploit the process for financial gain. The Service emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free and fair, with no fees required at any stage. “If anyone asks for payment, they are scammers,” the NCS warned.
Eligibility Criteria
The Nigeria Customs Service outlined different educational qualifications for each cadre:
Superintendent Cadre: Applicants must possess a relevant degree from a recognized institution.
Inspectorate Cadre: Applicants should have a National Diploma (ND) or a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
Customs Assistant Cadre: Applicants must have at least a secondary school certificate (WAEC or NECO).
Additionally, all applicants must be physically and mentally fit, and must submit a medical fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital as part of the recruitment process.

The decision to recruit more officers was discussed during the NCS’s 61st quarterly board meeting on December 18, 2024, at the Customs House in Abuja. The meeting followed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presentation of the 2025 national budget to the National Assembly, which includes a target revenue of N35 trillion out of an ambitious N48 trillion expenditure plan.
