Nigeria Immigration Service Arrests Suspected Criminal Mastermind Obi Levi Obieze

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has apprehended a high-profile suspect, Obi Levi Obieze—also known as Levi Obu Onyeka—who is wanted by the Enugu State Police Command for alleged involvement in serious crimes including kidnapping, abduction, and ritual activities.
Obieze, reportedly a native doctor from Umuojor village in Isiagu, Enugu State, is linked to the abduction of a 13-year-old girl on May 27, 2025. The girl, who was seized by three men while on her way to the farm with her father, was later rescued by police from a shrine allegedly tied to the suspect.
Acting on actionable intelligence, operatives from the NIS Lagos State Border Patrol Command intercepted Obieze at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme corridor as he attempted to escape on a motorcycle. His identity was confirmed through a slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission found in his possession.
Obieze reportedly confessed to the accusations during preliminary questioning. He remains in custody as the NIS works closely with the Nigeria Police Force to facilitate his handover and further investigation. This swift operation underscores the NIS’s ongoing dedication to national security and crime prevention, offering a measure of relief to the affected family and the broader community.
