NNPCL Raises Fuel Price Again Within Four Days
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again adjusted the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking the second increase within just four days.
As of Friday, FirstClassGists reporters observed that NNPCL filling stations across Abuja — including locations in Kubwa, along Lugbe Expressway, and in Wuse Zones 4 and 5 — are now selling petrol at ₦945 per litre. This same price is also being recorded at NNPCL outlets in parts of Nasarawa and Kogi states.
Abubakar Maigandi, National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed the development, stating:
“The price change at NNPCL outlets took effect this morning. I don’t have details on the reason behind it.”
This latest hike comes shortly after NNPCL had reduced its price to ₦900 per litre, following an earlier rate of ₦955 on Monday, August 4th.
The recent instability in fuel pricing appears to align with Dangote Refinery’s decision to raise its ex-depot price from ₦820 to ₦850 per litre.
Meanwhile, other marketers are offering varied prices: MRS is selling at ₦885 per litre, Bova at ₦895, while stations like Optima, Ranoil, AA Rano, and NIPCO are dispensing PMS at rates between ₦950 and ₦955 in Abuja as of Friday evening.
