NO AMOUNT CAN BUY OSUN’S FUTURE” — APC Accuses Adeleke of Alleged ₦20,000 Vote-Buying Plot

– Osun APC Alerts Civil Servants, Teachers, Others On Implications

Sensing imminent defeat in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, the state Governor Ademola Adeleke has concluded plans to purchase the votes of all the civil servants, teachers and public servants in the state. The largesse for the vote-buying is also extended to all the local government workers in the state.

A privileged but reliable information disclosed that Governor Adeleke has approved the payment of N20,000 across board to all the state workers as an inducement for them to vote for him in the 15th August, 2026 governorship election.

The information revealed further that the beneficiaries of the governor’s vote buying will start having their various bank accounts credited with the N20,000 bribe as from tomorrow(Monday).

Our appeal to the civil and public servants is to be wary of the Greek gift as the intention of Governor Adeleke is mischievous more so when it is on record that the governor has failed to pay leave bonuses to all categories of staff from May 2025.

It is also on record that the governor has failed to remit co-operative deductions and the remittance of the loans deductions from workers salaries the workers whose votes he has concluded plans to buy for the governorship election.

The state workers are also reminded about the failure of the Accord Party governorship candidate to remit pension deductions to Pension Fund Administrators.

Governor Adeleke’s failure and refusal to remit deductions made in respect of Health Insurance Scheme and remittance of check-off dues to trade unions in the state is known to all and sundry.

It is absurd and criminal for the governor to engage in vote buying from all the active government workers in the state which has been outlawed by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).

Is it by force for Governor Adeleke to impose himself on the state for re-election if actually he is popular?

All indications and unfolding development in the state have shown that the people of the state have rejected the Ede-born governor because his actions and inactions in the close to four years in the office have shown him as a misnomer for the office of a state governor in order to restore the lost glory of the state under the Adeleke administration.

In a similar development, some agents of the Accord Party were sighted in Osogbo, Olorunda Local Government Council Area of the state, on Saturday, giving out N10,000 to each of the potential voters after they have been coerced to swear to an oath that they would vote for Governor Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

We are calling on the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, the National INEC chairman, the state police command and the state Director of Department of State Services to work in tandem in order to burst this electoral fraud approved by the state governor in the interest fair, free and credible governorship election in the state.

The nation’s anti-corruption agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission(ICPC) should also investigate our allegation of vote-buying against Governor Adeleke in order to sanitise the process of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The criminal status of vote-buying by Governor Adeleke offends Part III, Section 22(c) of the Electoral Act, 2026 as amended which stipulates that: “Any person who buys or offers to buy, sells or offers to sell votes whether on his own behalf or on behalf of any other person, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of not less than N5,000,000 or imprisonment to a term of not less than two years or both, and shall not be eligible to stand for election in Nigeria for a period of, at least, 10 years”.
